Men's "A" Side vs./ Eastern Suburbs RFC "A" Side
 
The Erie Rugby Club's Men's Team hosted the 2008 ARU Champs on Saturday.  After destroying every opponent they've faced, Erie hoped to hand the Suburbs their first loss of the season.  Unfortunately, mental errors got the best of the Erie RFC...who gave up many costly penalties during the match.  Going into the half with the Suburbs up 17-0, Erie came out much stronger in the second half...playing 90% of it inside the Suburbs 22 meter line.  Sadly enough, the late push just wasn't enough, as the Eastern Suburns walked out of Erie poised to have a second straight undefeated season.  Erie scored only one more try to the Suburb's two in the second half, with Erie ultimately losing the match by the score of 27-5.  Scoring for Erie's "A" Side was co-captain Matt Verga with a try (5pts).
 
Men's "B" Side vs./ Eastern Suburbs RFC "B" Side
 
Erie's "B" Side fared much better than the "A" Side in a very competitive and hard-hitting "B" Game.  The Suburbs struck first once again with an early try, to take a 5-0 lead.  Erie was able to hang in strong for the remainder of the half...keeping the score at 5-0.  Erie struck next to tie the match, when Erie flyhalf Nate Moore scored a try late in the second half to tie it at 5.  Unfortunately, the Suburbs were able to score one final try in the last minute of the match to win by the score of 10-5...giving Erie's "B" Side team their first loss of the season.
